Nail The Pitch
Here at NAVS, we love using Nail The Pitch. It's a free app which can show you the pitch at which you are singing.
Below, find a Youtube video and suggestions from us about how to use the app and how it might help your practice time.
How to use Nail The Pitch
This is a great video with some fab ideas. https://youtu.be/aiPe-Cbl_SQ?si=iUWKcMefNydXbmh8

- Play a note on a tuned instrument, such as a piano or pluck a string on a guitar and see which note that looks like on the app. Now sing that same note and try to match the note you saw the instrument make on the app.
- Play a short tune on a speaker - an acapella track if possible (see the Youtube video for an example of where to find this kind of thing) - and do the same as the first suggestion.
- Try and maintain one note - any note - keep within the orange of that note. As you progress, notice how flat the grey line is. Is it flat or wobbly?
- Can you change your voice to being flat and then wobbly (with vibrato? Or is that just a bit unsteady?)
- Can you discipline your voice to singing really flat?
- Can you see your vibrato?
